An HVAC drift alert does not have the same urgency as an OPERAT declaration reminder. Bundling them under a single “ping” leads either to deafness or to treating administrative topics as emergencies. Octowise types alerts and, on mobile, lets you toggle each category.
The web keeps the bell and timeline for desk work. Mobile push is reserved for the field and for deadlines you accept receiving off the Octowise screen.

Context before channel
A notification with no link to the record is just another SMS. Each Octowise alert points to the building, source, or rule. History distinguishes a resolved incident from recurrence on the same equipment.
That is what makes operating conditions and signatures actionable: you do not receive “energy anomaly”, you receive enough to open a diagnosis.
Team load and chosen silence
Turning a type off is not neglect if the role does not cover that topic. A CFO may want overdue invoices without BMS alarms. An operator, the reverse. Preferences are individual; the portfolio stays shared.
Without notification configuration for the organization, push is inactive. Better one fewer channel than a “promised” channel that never arrives.
